At twelve Fane Smith’s IQ is off the charts, and since his father’s murder at the hands of Watchers he and his mother have been prisoners in their own home. But Fane has begun to experience nocturnal visits from a man named Joshua who doesn’t seem to register on the surveillance camera in Fane’s bedroom. Joshua warns the boy that time is running out and that he must be prepared when the Watchers finally come for him. At the same time an autistic genius named Shep Ward is taken to visit Joshua where he is held stories below ground in a secret desert facility. Shep’s mission is Joshua’s murder, but instead he kills his keepers and escapes into a world he comprehends only through data he has been absorbing all his life like a human computer. Both Fane and Shep are drawn back to the place of their origin, Rastley, New York, a near-deserted town of unspeakable evil run by Morgan Rastley, the man who made it so. A professional hit man waits for Shep and an operating table for Fane. And death waits for every human being on earth if Morgan is successful in his quest.
“‘Truders was an amazing read… From the moment McGrew describes humans as “wild,” the reader gets a general picture of the story and from then on the narrative is a wild ride… McGrew’s attention to detail in execution… no character behind, no hanging string untied. ” –T. Dewhirst , Amazon
“From the first paragraph to the last sentence, Chandler McGrew has the reader riveted.” – Amazon
“A wild twisting ride of intrigue and terror. I cannot wait for the sequel and I may never sleep again.” – Amazon
“Indulge me my enthusiasm, it’s rare that I find books that I enjoy to such an extent. ” - C.L. Davies
WOW!!! Move over Dan Brown. Not since The Da Vinci Code has a book blown me away like this one. This author is a wonderful writer. I simply loved reading this. It is so deep and it makes me want to meet this author and talk to him. I love having deep philosophical discussions with people with insight and this author does have insight. My favorite quote of the whole book was, “God’s not in a book. Books are written by men. Men make mistakes. Men lie.” It’s one of those quotes that you wish you had said. I just can’t figure out how I missed this author all my life. I will definitely read more by him. I recommend this book to everyone! – Amazon
Sheila Bright talks to the dead including the ghost of her mother who wants to move to California. Kira Graves can produce money out of thin air. The two of them, Shape Shifters, Pookas, Lost Boys and more all inhabit the Crossroads, where good and evil collide.
When Kira’s family and everyone else in their carnival are murdered by unearthly creatures called Grigs, Kira and her constant companion, Jen, flee toward a half-mythical place of safety called Graves Island, but they fail to reach it when Kira is drawn through the looking glass to another world. The planet of the Creators is swiftly deteriorating from a world of dreams into one of nightmares, and the only way to stop the Empty-Eyed Man from turning the entire universe into chaos is for Kira to destroy the tool he most desires, but what she must sacrifice to do so may be worth more to her than the prize.
“A bewitching novel that transports you into a world of dreams and nightmares. ” – The Lit Critic
“I enjoyed every moment of Crossroads, and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I downright loved this novel, so much so that McGrew easily earns, in my opinion, exaltation to Master of the Genre – right up there with King and Koontz. What more can I say? Crossroads is truly a brilliant book.” – C.L. Davies (Read an Excerpt)

“Chandler McGrew (is) showing us how to scare the pants off readers with his latest paperback original…” – The Chicago Tribune
“…a born-to-be-a-TV-series story about a 13-year-old blind and deaf boy who can hear evil spirits, and a police officer who gets dragged back from Texas to his Maine roots by a force stronger than life.” – Chicago Tribune
“In Shadows is actually a finely woven tale of terror-and one of love as well.” – Fangoria
“What starts out as a crime thriller quickly turns into a horror novel that is so scary, the audience will read IN SHADOWS with all the lights left on. Mandi’s son Pierce is a special child with a good heart, a strong sense of right and wrong and is the key to the mystery of Crowley’s curse. His choice to give up what he desires most so that others may live will bring tear to the eyes of the reader. This is horror fiction at its most chilling making Chandler McGrew a worthy successor to Stephen King.”~ Harriet Klausner
“IN SHADOWS is my first book by McGrew, and I look forward to many more. A longtime fan of Dean Koontz and Robert R. McCammon, I enjoyed this story thoroughly and was sorry it had to end. Jake’s partner and the partner’s grandmother are lively additions to the cast, and the pivotal character of a young boy named Pierce will tug on your heartstrings from page one. A great read.” www.freshfiction.com (Read an Excerpt)
